New Dunedin Hospital

Destravis is engaged as a sub-consultant to support the architectural team planning the development of a New Dunedin Hospital in New Zealand.

In August 2017 NZ Ministers approved the rebuild of Dunedin hospital at a cost of between $1.2 billion and $1.4 billion. The project is the result of a number of buildings on the hospital campus nearing the end of their life, including the Clinical Services Building built in 1960.

The Detailed Business Case is currently underway to agree the preferred option and cover the detailed design, procurement, and construction phases of the project.

To support the facility concept design, Destravis is undertaking comprehensive user consultation to develop Functional Briefs for departments throughout the facility.

Broad departmental groups included:

• Emergency and Critical Care
• Women’s Health and Maternity
• Ambulatory care and allied health groups
• Medical Imaging
• Cancer services including oncology IPU & Nuclear Medicine
• Front of House.
