Destravis was engaged to deliver a Schematic Design and Detailed Business Case for a new extended treatment and mental health facility for adolescent patients with mental health issues. This project eventuated from a Commission of Inquiry report which recommended a strong focus on consumer engagement during design and development.
The co-design engagement process involved testing the new facility designs with an exercise involving all participants to simulate scenarios typical of an operational unit across 24hrs. Aspects of the site were also reviewed including neighbours, scale, access, wayfinding, massing and form, relationships with other facilities and environmental impact.
